Network Expansion
GameHawk moves from one server to a network of four, including a proxy.
A Complete History
GameHawk was founded by two gamers in early May, 2021. At the time, it was known as Canadian & Cam, or C&C, named after themselves. It was just going to be a Minecraft server. An SMP, Hunger Games, Lifesteal, and a custom mini-game known as Valour Strike.
Then, on January 15th, 2022, the first session of a server known as Final Life started. Similar to Third Life, it was invite-only, within a world border, and players had a limited amount of lives.
Four months later, the C&C SMP had its grand opening on April 2nd, 2022. Things were happening. The server was hosted on Aternos, and it wasn’t running 24/7. Players had to request that the server be started up in order to play, or make an Aternos account and manually start it. The server experienced lag, and both Canadian and Cam wanted a server capable of running smoothly 24/7.
On April 26th and 27th, we received two back-to-back donations from generous people known as airgirl202 and Zer0Calib3r (now 1Pilot). This opened up several opportunities for the server, and the owners decided it was time to expand and upgrade.
Finally, on May 3rd, 2022, the new 24/7 server was released along with the “24/7” update. Within a month, the server included a more customized SMP known as the Mythic SMP, kit PvP titled Battleground PvP, and a never-ending spleef game called LaserSpleef.
This all happened while the server was under the name of Canadian & Cam. Almost exactly two months later, on July 2nd, 2022, they partnered with a developer named heymydude_1 and released the biggest update yet: The “Floating Islands” update. It added a whole other server to the network, in which players could play BedWars and SkyWars.
And this was all leading up to the “GameHawk” update. On January 1st, 2023, after months and months of coding, building, designing, writing, testing, drawing, failing, and re-coding, re-building, re-designing, re-writing, more testing, re-drawing, and finally having (almost) everything falling… into… place… the “GameHawk” update was released. The server had been re-branded, and the Mythic SMP was back, more Mythic than ever. Battleground also came back with custom weapon textures and a new sci-fi map.
